Feasibility Study for Nelson
December 13, 2023
At Biodiversity Land and Leisure, our commitment to promoting sustainable practices extends beyond mere discourse, we actively engage in comprehensive discussions and assessments to introduce transformative initiatives to golf courses. Recently, we collaborated with Nelson Golf Course, situated in Lancashire, to discuss enhancing both the environmental and economic facets of the golf course.
The report encompassed a spectrum of innovative ideas, ranging from infill projects to harnessing solar energy and implementing heat pumps. Each proposal was carefully tailored to align with the unique characteristics of the golf course, ensuring seamless integration and optimal outcomes. The infusion of sustainable energy sources like solar power and heat pumps not only contributes to a reduction in the environmental footprint but also presents a pragmatic approach towards energy efficiency and cost savings for the club.
Biodiversity took centre stage in our recommendations, emphasising the importance of fostering and preserving local ecosystems. Proposals centred around enhancing biodiversity on the golf course, creating a harmonious balance between the natural environment and the recreational aspects of the facility. This not only enriches the ecological diversity but also enhances the overall aesthetic appeal of the course.
