Our Values
We are an ethical company. We only commit to working in partnership with entities whose overarching goal is the net improvement of Biodiversity and, with a desire to make a positive impact on climate change.
We operate in an open and honest fashion. If we do not think a scheme is feasible in ensuring biodiversity NET gain, we will tell you. We bring passion to every partnership project, working creatively in pursuit of improved biodiversity, alongside sustainable development, creating legacies for future generations.
Company Ethos Vison
As an ethical company, we like to work differently. In partnership with clubs across the UK, our aim is for symbiotic relationships where all parties are working for environmental betterment without compromise.
Where existing leisure facilities for both private and/or community enjoyment can be transformed and improved. We create sustainable aesthetic spaces whilst simultaneously protecting and allowing nature to thrive.
Commitment to Sustainability
We are committed to a sustainable future for generations to come and our services are delivered in a way that takes into consideration the natural environment we work in. We are dedicated to minimising disruption to communities and stakeholders, our purpose is to always leave land in a more positive form for the longer term good of our clients and the planet.
What we do
Purpose
Established to facilitate and assist landowners and stakeholders, we do this by utilising their existing natural capital resources. This increases environmental, and financial betterment for the next generation of members.
Specifically, Biodiversity Land & Leisure specialises in advising sports and leisure facilities across the UK. Our suitable Biodiversity enhancement and landscaping projects, utilise existing land assets either to meet desired Environmental Social and Governance measures, for their own board reporting and, environmental conscience in the local community.
Sustainability
Leisure facilities, including golf courses, can play a key role in the arrest of nature decline in the UK. This has seen a reduction in biodiversity by 60% in the last 50 years.
Studies have shown that increased exposure to nature can also present positive effects on human health and mental wellbeing. Taking a positive step to increase nature provision on golf and leisure facilities, helps to attract members who have concerns about the effects of climate change and decreasing biodiversity. We advise and assist golf facilities on how they can meet the R&A GC2030 targets fulfilling
maintenance of their grounds whilst reducing, and in some cases, eliminating reliance on the main water supply. Collection and re-use of water naturally increases biodiversity opportunities, enabling golf and leisure facilities to become regenerative operations which have a positive impact on climate change.
We advise golf and leisure facilities on enhancement projects designed to ensure significant and real biodiversity impact. At the same time, we deliver improved facilities, maintenance savings, and significant financial income to clubs and committees.
What is Biodiversity net gain?
Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) is legislation that ensures infrastructure projects or developments produce a net increase in biodiversity either on the development or as close to the site as possible. The benefits to the land and community range from attractive landscapes to positive climate impact.
